Hajime No Ippo

Image
Hajime No Ippo is an incredible boxing anime full of suspense, comedy and hearty action that hit home unlike the often repetitive shonen brand of fighting anime's. What I like about this anime is although its an older one it's still full of surprises that one wouldn't be able to easily predict. To put it simply you follow the protagonist Ippo Makunouchi on his journey from a talented new face in the boxing world try to make his way to the best of the best with the help of his new gym mates. In most cases I don't watch very much anime's more than once, but this is one that I'll go back to from time to time. 10/10 this is a must watch.

Kuroko No Basuke

One of the first sports anime that I ever watched was Kuroko no Basuke, and if you feel undecided about sports anime's then this will be the perfect one to change your mind. The way they make the game of basketball so suspenseful and so exciting is beyond me. The story centers around the character Kuroko, a very timid and quiet character, far different from your typical anime protagonist. He and his high school basketball team face many hardships along the way to become the best in Japan, along the way he ends up facing old friends and new enemies with the goal of teaching everyone the true meaning of basketball. You learn to love and hate certain characters and really get attached to the game, it may even make you want to start playing basketball like it did for me. Either way this is a great watch with 3 seasons and a great movie that just came out last year. 10/10

Isekai Izakaya "Nobu"

Isekai Izakaya is a short feel good anime that those who appreciate Japanese food would really enjoy. The premise of the anime is simple, a small Japanese restaurant is one day transported to fantasy world set in the middle ages. Here the people are not used to the the kinds of dishes that modern day Japan serves and are amazed by the quality and variety that this Izakaya has to offer. The whole series is about interesting characters discovering classic Japanese dishes and what this mysterious place has to offer. I'm a bit biased because I absolutely love food anime's so this one would have to be a 10/10 recommendation.

This is has got to be one of my favorites in a sense that it really isn't in the popular shonen genre of anime. This falls into a great murder mystery type that isn't too popular in today's day and age. They did end up making a live action adaption of this one, but like all live action adaptions I don't recommend it. The premise of this anime is the protagonist Satoru Fujinuma is a young adult who mysteriously gains the ability one day that sends him back in time a few moments before a life threatening incident occurs where he then has a chance to prevent it from happening. During this time there is a story about a kidnapping that occurred when he was just a child where several of his classmates were taken and murdered. Without giving away too much, something happens to someone important to him and because of this he is sent back in type about eighteen years to when he was in elementary school. Where he now has a chance to solve this mystery of the kidnapper and save
